Has this been a Blue Week for you?

"Blue Monday" is a pop culture term that names the third Monday of January as "the saddest day of the year".

It's supposed to be the day the cold reality of the New Year sets in, with the happy and optimistic holiday mood over, facing debt from the holiday festivities, New Year's Resolutions slipping away, and the year feels like just a long stretch of a repeat of previous year's. After this, things just feel like a drudge again, translating to a Blue Week or even weeks, with nothing much to look forward to. Has this been a Blue Week for you then? Even without those "Blue Monday" factors-- have the energies in and around you just felt dense and heavy again? If so, take heart, you're not alone. It happens to the best of us. One way I have found very helpful especially at times like this is to cultivate Intentional Solitude and Stillness-- stepping back from the world for a while as much as I can and doing only the minimum required in my outer world to function and to fulfill my duties well.

This week, I felt moved to stay away from posting and engaging too much in social media as well. Instead, I felt drawn to more solitary pursuits-- praying, meditation, walking, reading, journaling, doing household stuff with my favorite classical and Solfeggio Frequencies music in Spotify accompanying me.

In energetic terms, it's a way of reclaiming my energies, drawing them back to my self, and centering and grounding myself so I don't get lost in my path. This has been especially significant with the year starting off in news of potential war between Iran and the U.S. even while Australian wildfires raged on, and now a possible coronavirus outbreak from China spreading. What would it gain me to focus on these fearsome news, huh? I would only work against my self by giving my energies away to things I basically cannot do something about. "Give form only to what you desire to experience this year" (from last post), remember? Form is just coagulated energy, and energy always follows attention. Instead, I shift my focus to my own wellbeing and my own life-- on areas I can definitely do something about-- with the knowing from experience now that when I am adequately watered and nourished this way, I can face anything else with more wisdom strength and courage. How have you been this past week? How do you take good care of your wellbeing in days like this?
